Mother's Day
A quick note
Bible Verse 📖
Proverbs 31:25-30 (NIV):
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.' Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."
🌼 Mother’s Day 🌸
Mother’s Day is such a special day for me. Right around this time of year is when I talked to my grandma just before she passed away, so I think of her whenever I think of May. I miss my conversations with her, and her interest in seeing me develop.
I’ve also watched my wife for years be so sad that she didn’t have a baby of her own to hold. That’s since changed, and this will be her second Mother’s Day with our baby girl. It’s strange to think how something so sad can be turned into something that sparks joy. I appreciate the hardship because it makes the good times that much more enjoyable.
It’s been an incredible journey this past year being a father, and knowing my wife as a mother. We’ve both grown tremendously and I’m glad for it. It’s inspiring to watch my wife become a mother and build herself up more.
She’s become more patient, more aware, more grateful, and more beautiful, if that’s even possible. I’m grateful that Motherhood is making her better. That makes me better too, and us being better strengthens our marriage and our family.
And of course I’m grateful to my Mother, who has supported me though hard times. I appreciate the effort she has put into my development and for her honest input when I’ve faced difficult decisions.
Meaningful Song 🎧
Featuring the best song from my wife’s favorite movie. I have so much admired the effort she’s put into herself recently. She’s been working so hard, especially on the types of relationships she fosters. She is established a vision of who she wants to be and is protecting that vision while moving towards it, and that’s a beautiful thing to see. I’m glad to be part of her life.
Happy Mother’s Day,
Broc
